How to Use the IVR Conversion Tool
Step 1: Enter Your Medicare ID, MBI, PTAN, or Member Name
Type your Medicare Beneficiary Identifier (MBI), PTAN, member name, or any alphanumeric ID. You can include spaces and dashes—they will be stripped automatically.
Step 2: Select IVR Conversion Type
Choose the IVR system you are calling: Medicare, MBI, PTAN (numbers only), BCBS, WPS, NGS, or General (standard keypad mapping).
Step 3: Copy and Use the Result
Click Copy and enter the converted value when the IVR system prompts you. Use the keypad on your phone to dial the digits (and * # if applicable).
IVR Conversion Formats
Medicare IVR Format (*XX)
Medicare, MBI, BCBS, WPS, and NGS IVR systems use the *XX format. Each letter maps to * + key + position (e.g., A=*21, B=*22, Z=*94). Numbers and * # pass through unchanged.
Standard Keypad (General)
For systems that use simple letter-to-digit mapping: ABC=2, DEF=3, GHI=4, JKL=5, MNO=6, PQRS=7, TUV=8, WXYZ=9.
PTAN (Numbers Only)
PTAN numbers are numeric only. This mode strips all non-numeric characters.
